The point is, that in this case instead of tape diagnostic, digital touch-control (sensor) is used, that is more sensitive than modest tape, that’s why X–raying of tooth or arch by means of touch-control takes less time of radiation(display). And what is more, got image instantly appears on the monitor of computer, there is no need to wait when your picture will be ready.

And one more important thing - a picture is always kept in a computer database and added to your personal electronic card.Usual tape X-ray film can be "somewhere forgotten, lost or spoiled accidentally," and information is lost. Images are printed or dates are transferred to digital media (CD).

And now something about X-ray diagnostic methods in our clinic. What was mentioned before – we make X-ray examination by modest equipment and it means minimal dose of irradiation and images of high quality.

OPTH - orthopantomography - this method will provide a snapshot with single –step image of whole teeth-jaw system as a functional complex. Due to this method we can diagnose of different of teeth-jaw system : detection of caries at the contact surfaces of crown sections and cervical teeth part, detection of caries at the chewing surfaces of the crown tooth under the filling, localization of destructive processes is determined, analysis of the number and nature of roots bending.

And obligatory in diseases diagnostic and teeth treatment are so-called « periapical » images (Digital intraoral x-ray). Proper name of this method is intraoral teeth X-ray. These images are taken to determine the state of bone tissue at the root apex (top) and to control the location of endodontic instruments in root canals, and also quality control of filling it, in the process of treatment. Moreover, intraoral radiographs show the state of a  tooth part with a crown: a presence of carious cavity on the pin surfaces and cervical sections of teeth, and also at the tooth part preparing to restoration (by fillings and porcelain fused metal constructions), presence of hard dental raid (“dental pebbles”), quality of restoration fitting.

Which radiographs are necessary and why?

Bitewing X-rays are recommended once a year or one and a half of the year. They allow us to diagnose the interdental caries. Full X-ray of teeth-jaw system (orthopantomography) should be done every 3-5 years. This X-ray diagnostic, shows teeth-jaw system completely. It can find any abnormality or disease of hard tissue (teeth and jaws). It allows doctor to monitor the dynamics of bone level (important for the diagnosis of periodontal disease), presence of inflammation at the teeth roots that can not be detected by simple examination.
